HIT* (Heterojunction with Intrinsic Thin layer) module

SANYO HIT modules consist of mono-crystalline silicon wafers enclosed within amorphous silicon layers. The resulting cells have the best of both worlds – the high efficiency of mono-crystalline combined with the low light and high temperature performance of thin film. With these cells SANYO has achieved the world’s highest solar cell conversion efficiency at production level of 21.6% (May 2011).

SANYO HIT modules are the best performing modules for energy yield at the Desert Knowledge Solar Centre in Alice Springs, Australia. The HIT modules performed almost 10% better on average compared to mono-crystalline modules and 14% better than thin film modules. Overall the SANYO HIT modules give the greatest annual yield per installed kilowatt.
